The luxury travel operator has launched its Malta collection, complete with four properties and two itineraries, after receiving strong interest in the country from its agent partners.
“Although the destination is already known to Brits, its perception is shifting as it emerges further into the luxury market,” Sophie Jones, Elegant Resorts’ senior product manager for Europe, told TTG.
“I’ve found somewhere that combines culture, history, and an unforgettable dining scene. It has a high concentration of Michelin stars for such a small island, alongside incredible local spots serving fresh seafood and Italian-inspired dishes.”
Jones believes Malta works for both short and longer stays, adding that there’s also the option to “combine a visit with Sicily via a 90-minute ferry connection.”
As of early 2026, Malta’s hospitality sector offers several luxury properties suitable for high-net-worth clients. The market is currently led by Iniala Harbour House, a 19th-century property located inside Valletta's city walls, and The Phoenicia, a grand estate with 7.5 acres of private gardens.
Nearby in Senglea, options include Cugó Gran Macina and The Snop House, while the 2026 pipeline includes the openings of Romegas and Casa Bonavita, signalling continued investment in the boutique segment over mass-market luxury.
Regarding the demographic interested in visiting Malta, Jones noted: “It is a real mix! Younger people are interested in music events and the food scene, more mature clients choose winter sun, families seek a change in destination, and others look for a short city break (Valletta) with history and culture.
The five-day Discover Malta itinerary is based at The Phoenicia and features private tours of Valletta’s hidden treasures alongside a full-day excursion to Gozo.
For a more extensive trip, the 10-night A Tale of Two Islands combines a luxury stay in Malta with a 90-minute ferry crossing to Sicily. Both packages include perks such as private transfers, UK airport lounge passes, and curated artisan encounters.
Starting prices range from £4,210 for the short break to £10,310 for the dual-island experience.
