The hotels, cruise and trains specialist is already planning to launch a new overnight train service in Peru - Belmond Andean Explorer - from May 2017, while the Grand Hibernian train experience is set to make its debut in Ireland later this month.
The company will add the two new boats to its Belmond Afloat brand of luxury barges in France – taking the total number of vessels in that fleet to seven.
The new boats, Lilas and Pivone, will operate six-night itineraries on canals and rivers in the Alsace and Champagne regions from summer 2017.
The barges can cater for up to eight guests in four en-suite cabins, and also feature open decks with a swimming pool, as well as living space and a dining room.
The company’s Grand Hibernian train in Ireland is due to begin operating on August 30 offering a choice of two, four and six-night itineraries. It will be the seventh train in Belmond’s fleet.
Andrea Filippi, Belmond’s executive director of worldwide sales, told ttgluxury, during Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas, that the Grand Hibernian had already sold out for 2016.
