In a joint statement, the Carnival brands said they understood how disappointing the decision would be for affected guests and stressed they wished to express their “sincere apologies for the disruption caused”.
The statement added the decision to cancel the bookings had not been “made lightly”.
"Princess Cruises, along with Cunard and Holland America Line, has made the difficult decision to cancel some outstanding bookings made through Jetline Holidays due to its breach of contract," the statement reads. "All other bookings, including all P&O Cruises bookings, have been transferred to direct bookings."
It’s not clear how Jetline is supposed to have breached its contract with Carnival. TTG has approached director Steven Roberts for comment.
Calls to Jetline’s main contact number on Wednesday afternoon (5 March) rang out without answer. The ability to comment on its Facebook posts has also appears to have been switched off.
TTG understands Jetline staff were sent home from the agency’s Barnet offices earlier this week.
The Carnival brands’ statement advises customers affected by the decision to contact Jetline Holidays directly to rebook their cruises.
However, TTG has seen several Trustpilot reviews which indicate customers are struggling to contact Jetline.
One Jetline customer claimed that cruise line he had booked had not been paid by the agency. "I have been contacted by the cruise line to say that Jetline have not paid them, even though we paid months ago, we have 48 hours to pay them or cancel, trouble is this was part of a large package and I don’t know whether we have hotels, flights etc," he said.
"Atol has not yet been informed, so can’t do anything on that side yet. We are due to travel in four weeks. Nobody answering phones, funny that because a week ago I couldn’t get them off the phone offering me upgrades etc."
One Jetline customer revealed how their Cunard booking with Jetline had been cancelled just three days prior to departure.
"We’ve just had notification from Cunard that our cruise booking via Jetline has been cancelled due to a breach of contract with this agency,” they said.
“I am unable to contact this company via any of their phone numbers. And emails get an auto response.”
Another wrote: “Found out our cruise has been cancelled due to Jetline’s breach of contract. Have had no contact from Jetline. Have tried every telephone number and emailed [and got] nothing.”
Jetline Holidays is authorised to carry 4,790 Atol-protected passengers in the year to the end of September 2025, according to the Civil Aviation Authority.
Jetline’s consortium, The Advantage Travel Partnership, told TTG: "We are currently awaiting an update from the member."
