Unite union members employed by ICTS at Gatwick had been due to walk out over 22-26 August and again over 29 August to 2 September, but have called off the first part of their proposed action.
It follows a new pay offer by ICTS. Unite will ballot members on the proposal over the coming days, warning that if the offer is rejected, the action from 29 August to 2 September will go ahead.
Unite regional officer Ben Davis said: "Following an improved offer from ICTS, Unite has suspended strikes in order to ballot its members."
Earlier this week, Gatwick played down the prospect of major disruption as a result of the walkout. Unite, meanwhile, warned action by its ICTS members at Gatwick would intensify if the dispute wasn’t resolved.
TTG has approached ICTS for comment.
