Saga and Titan Travel have both confirmed they will support the transfer of bookings by former Freedom Travel Group members to their new businesses.
Saga said bookings made by Freedom agents will be able to transfer these bookings to their new consortium and reclaim full commission.
Titan Travel has made a similar pledge in respect of bookings made by Freedom or Future Travel agents.
All affected agents will be contacted by the respective Saga and Titan trade teams in the coming months.
Freedom and Future Travel were subsidiaries of Thomas Cook, which collapsed on 23 September taking a number of Freedom and Future Travel members’ businesses with it.
“All of us at Saga are deeply saddened by the collapse of Thomas Cook,” Saga’s head of trade sales Iain Powell said.
“We have worked extremely hard in the last few weeks to minimise the impact on our mutual customers."
The two operators have said they will reach an agreement with agents on any bookings that do not qualify.
Titan Travel’s head of trade sales Edwina Coppock said: “Titan is very proud of the close relationship it holds with the trade and wants to reassure Freedom Travel Group members that we are here to support them.
“We wish to work with all agents going forward and help them reclaim their bookings, as per their new consortium’s agreement, as quickly as possible.
“We greatly appreciate all the hard work independent agents do and wish to honour those affected by the collapse of the Thomas Cook Group as fairly as possible.”
Agents will be required to confirm their new Abta number to reclaim the booking.
Saga will directly manage all former Thomas Cook trips departing before 1 January next year to minimise disruption to passengers.
