St Lucia has released a new promotional video to entice winter sun seekers to the Caribbean destination as it continues to reopen to tourists.
The film features a range of experiences now again available to holidaymakers, as well as new attractions and activities - such as the Sulphur Springs mud baths, horse-riding and diving.
Gros Piton Trail, Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens and Rainforest Adventures zip-lining course are also among the Covid-certified activities on offer.
The video is the second created as part of the country’s ‘She is Saint Lucia… Let Her Inspire You’ campaign and is set to air as a 30-second ad on TV and run across social media and digital advertising.
Minister of tourism Dominic Fedee said St Lucians had been “heartened and humbled” by the response from international travellers since reopening its borders.
He said the Caribbean nation had welcomed more than 6,000 holidaymakers globally after reopening on 4 June - with UK arrivals accounting for around 20% of the figure.
As of 6 October, St Lucia has seen 27 confirmed Covid-19 cases during the pandemic, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, and the destination holds a quarantine-free travel corridor with the UK.
All arriving passengers five years and older from the UK must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR test within seven days prior to departing, while entrants over 18 must also complete a Pre-Arrival Travel Registration Form within three days before departing.
Additional temperature check screenings will be conducted upon arrival.
“Our first video had a message of reassurance. Now it’s time to build on that and inspire travellers by reminding them of the unique experiences that our beautiful island has to offer once more. We continue to diligently work to support our local citizens and our tourism partners and look forward to the season ahead,” Fedee said.
