A Stockport travel agent has scooped herself a year’s worth of luxury living after winning Pure Luxury’s largest ever incentive.
Joanne Morris, owner of Global Travel Stockport, claimed the prize, which includes a £500 monthly mortgage allowance, 12 months’ use of a Mercedes and a holiday to Dubai, after being named the agent with the highest revenue of One&Only bookings during a ceremony last week.
Morris, who has spent more than 20 years in the industry, was also awarded a £200 monthly shopping allowance and a “VIP treat” each month as part of the competition.
To get their hands on the rewards, agents were tasked with booking as many One&Only getaways as they could through Pure Luxury and its sister brand, Gold Medal, between March 17 and May 13.
Shop manager Morris was among the five highest-selling agents who attended a Michelin-starred dinner party at the Northcote hotel near Preston last week to hear the winner revealed. “I’m really glad we were able to win as we pushed and pushed for bookings and it’s such a great feeling after all the hard work that’s been put in,” she told TTG.
“It’s a fantastic prize and a great incentive.”
The other shortlisted agents were Jill Waite of Pole Travel, in Failsworth near Oldham; Chorley Travel Lounge’s Lynda Doherty; Diane Coleman from Tickets Travel in Bexley; and Carol Ellis of Atlantis Travel, Chigwell.
They each received a Dubai holiday courtesy of One&Only and Pure Luxury for their efforts.
Gordon McCreadie, director of sales and marketing, B2B, Gold Medal and Travel 2, said he was thrilled with the response from the trade.
“All of our shortlisted agents have delivered a phenomenal performance so we’re delighted with how it’s gone,” McCreadie told TTG.
