Colletts Travel, which has its head office in Hendon, has taken over nearby Fortune Travel.

The newly acquired agency will become part of the Colletts Travel Group.

“They fit very much in with our client profile from a leisure perspective and we’re very excited that they’ve joined under our banner,” said Roy Collett, who owns and runs the company alongside fellow director Michael Berlin.

Fortune Travel has been trading for more than 30 years. Colletts also has a northern branch in Burnley, Lancashire.

Collett said that it was very much “business as usual” and that all staff would be staying on.

He said trading had been good so far this year.

“It’s been busy. The majority of our business is tailor-made bespoke upmarket leisure; it’s not just booking a package holiday, it’s very much a bespoke product that we have. And it works.”

Collett added that other acquisitions would be considered if the fit was right for the company.
