Each week, TTG is revisiting its 2019 Trips of the Trade podcast series to offer the trade a bit of much-needed light relief from the strains of the coronavirus pandemic – and hopefully a bit of holiday inspiration and wanderlust.
Our second Trips of the Trade podcast was recorded back in spring 2019 with then-Funway Holidays boss Melissa Tilling, who has since set up her own philanthropist travel operation Charitable Travel.
Melissa sat down with TTG Media news editor Jennifer Morris to discuss growing up in south London, her career in the travel sector, and her formative travel experiences – starting with a summer holiday to Majorca.
"I can’t remember it personally, but I’m told about it by my dad. I fell a bit ill on this holiday and he takes great pleasure in reminding me that I had to go to the hospital and nuns had to administer injection somewhere we won’t mention!
You can listen to Melissa’s Trips of the Trade podcast below via Soundcloud, or access it through Apple Podcasts.
Trips of the Trade was a seven-part podcast series with some of the leading names in the UK travel sector.
Each guest was challenged to put forward three trips that helped inspired their career in travel, and shape the person they have become.
We will be reliving the series over the coming weeks as the travel sector gets ready for the restart.
