Sustainability marketing, client acquisition and pandemics will be among the subjects discussed at the Adventure Travel Networking Conference & Marketplace.
The event, at London’s Royal Geographical Society on 21 May, consists of a supplier marketplace, conference and evening networking reception “bringing the adventure travel trade together under one roof”.
ATN organiser Pru Goudie said: “I’ve spent a lot of time speaking with the owners of small to medium sized tour operators and travel companies over the past two months and in response to their current concerns I have picked the topics most relevant to their businesses to tackle during the conferencing session.”
Sustainability marketing will be dealt with by Professor Xavier Font, a specialist in sustainable tourism.
A discussion on pandemics will look at the longer-term implications and learning points, including a panel session.
Client Acquisition will deal with being creative with marketing budgets including tips on how to stand out in a crowded digital market. This session will be delivered by a digital marketing specialist and tailored for small- to medium-sized businesses.
A discussion will also take place on the climate crisis.
“The great value of this event is that it brings active members of the adventure travel sector out of the office and together under one roof for one day and gives them the opportunity to meet and do business, to debate and discuss industry issues and to network together in a supportive environment,’’ Goudie said.
Speakers and panellists include Jono Vernon-Powell from Nomadic Thoughts; Alastair Donnelly of Inside Asia; Alex Narracott from Much Better Adventures; John Telfer from Explore; and TTG Media’s Pippa Jacks.
