Ferrin, who joined NCL in January 2019 as vice-president and managing director for the UK, Ireland, Israel, South Africa and Middle East, confirmed on LinkedIn he would be leaving the line on Friday (30 December).
An NCL spokesperson said: "Eamonn Ferrin is no longer with the company. We are grateful for his contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavours. We remain highly committed to our trade partners globally and will announce his replacement soon.”
In a message published on Thursday evening (29 December), Ferrin thanked NCL president Harry Sommer for bringing him onboard as UK and Ireland chief four years ago and praised the “hard work, commitment, fortitude and passion” of NCL staff across the company.
He also paid tribute to the line’s “wonderful” travel agent partners, calling them “a huge part of our success past, present and future”.
“The future for the cruise industry is very bright indeed, of that, I have no doubt, especially with the number of new ships coming in the years ahead including the beautiful new Prima class ships,” he added.
