Whether you weathered the lows of lockdown as a raw recruit and helped your business return to profitable ways, or you seized the disruption of the pandemic to launch a new travel business idea into the market, we want to hear from you. With the industry currently enjoying brighter days, now is the time for a whole new generation of young leaders to shine.
Once more TTG Media is working with headline sponsor Tui and our supporting partner, the Institute of Travel & Tourism, to identify 30 young high-flying travel professionals who will take part in our 11th year of the celebrated TTG 30 Under 30 programme.
TTG Media chief executive Daniel Pearce says: “Of all TTG’s wide-ranging initiatives, this is one that is closest to my heart, because we are so passionate about creating meaningful connections between a diverse group of young entrepreneurs and corporate achievers from all backgrounds and helping them take the next steps up the career ladder.”
Bex Landale, senior Canada and Southeast Asia specialist, Audley Travel and member of the 2022-2023 intake, found the programme "incredibly inspiring". She added: "From the first time that I met the other 29 candidates I felt in awe of everything they had achieved – such a wonderful mix of people with so much passion and knowledge about travel. The events that we were invited to further impassioned me, from dinners with impressive speakers, to a responsible travel event that led me to go back to Audley with a number of ideas, I am so pleased to have been involved with TTG’s 30 Under 30 this year.
"It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, to network, to learn, and to have fun. TTG are a wonderful bunch of people and have made the whole experience joyous. I’ll be staying in touch with everyone without a doubt!"
Fellow member Benedict Montgomery, global communications executive, corporate affairs, British Airways said: "The programme has enabled me to develop new friendships with my 30 Under 30 peers who share the same enthusiasm I have. I’ve enjoyed hearing from industry executives such as Tui’s managing director Andrew Flintham about their careers, reinforcing why I chose to work in a highly resilient and exciting industry where no two days are the same.
"I’d thoroughly encourage anyone to consider the programme, it’s a great way to expand your network, enhance your learning and development and you never know what opportunities may come knocking."
As well as seeking corporate young achievers, TTG’s 30 Under 30 programme also welcomes young entrepreneurs and travel disruptors, such as Pelumi Nubi, who founded travel magazine The Black Explorer. Even though she moved to Dubai part way through the programme, she still values the connections made: "I’ve been kicking myself that I couldn’t spend more face-to-face time with the group but it’s been a joy to build our community online with our WhatsApp group.
"Being able to leverage that network is so valuable. I’ve been a part of the charity committee and many of us are joining the shakedown cruise for Marella Voyager, which will be my first cruise, which I’m very excited about!"
