The FCDO gave the destination the all-clear on Wednesday (3 June), bar continuing to advise against all travel within 3km of the country's border with Syria.
Jordan is one of the countries that affected by its proximity to the US-Iran war, with FCDO initially advising against travel there in early March.
Zina Bencheikh, Intrepid Travel managing director EMEA, said: "We’re delighted to see the FCDO relax its advice on travel to Jordan. Tourism plays a crucial role in supporting local communities and livelihoods, and this has been a challenging period for our local team and partners.
"Jordan has long been a favourite with our travellers, and we’re excited to restart our trips this month and welcome customers back to this amazing country."
Jordan’s attractions include the rock-cut tombs and temples at Petra, plus the desert landscape of Wadi Rum and the Roman city of Jerash in the north.
It was put on the FCDO’s no-go list in March owing to it bordering Israel, with another key attraction, the Dead Sea, straddling the two countries.
Brian Young, G Adventures managing director EMEA, said the operator had paused its Jordan programme until the end of July ahead of the announcement.
He added: "We continue to monitor the situation closely and, while our Jordan itineraries remain available to book from August onwards, any decision on future departures will be guided by the latest travel advice across all the markets in which we operate.
"Jordan remains an important destination within our programme, and we look forward to welcoming travellers back as soon as possible."
The country is one of Exoticca’s top-sellers. Neil Sealy, managing director UK and Ireland, said: “We have already seen a big increase in bookings to Egypt in May, showing a strong appetite for travel to the region, and with the change in FCDO advice we look forward to seeing British travellers return to Jordan.”
