Updated: Jet2holidays launches 'specialist' agent programme featuring in-store booking pods

Jet2holidays is launching a Specialist Jet2holidays Travel Agents programme at its annual VIP conference today.

Specialist agents will also have access to joint marketing and branding and a bespoke training programme

Specialist Jet2holidays Travel Agent status gives consultants access to a number of new initiatives including Jet2holiday-branded booking pods, joint marketing and branding activity and a bespoke training programme.


“These have all been designed to help independent travel agents increase sales and grow their businesses,” said the operator.


The booking pods are a new in-store concept for specialists, which can be adapted to fit the space available in the store. They are not permanently fixed into place and the backdrop can be changed throughout the year to promote different products, Jet2 brands and seasons.


In addition, participating agents will also be able to brand their premises up as a Specialist Jet2holidays Travel Agent, take advantage of “a wide range” of new joint marketing opportunities, and run tailored promotional sales and offers for customers.


At the conference, at the Gloria Golf Resort in Antalya, Turkey, Jet2holidays also announced to the 270 independent agent delegates that participating agents would have access to tailored product awareness training, “equipping them with the knowledge and skills to call themselves a Specialist Jet2holidays Travel Agent”.


This training programme will include regular training sessions with the Jet2holidays trade team.

“With the launch of Specialist Jet2holidays Travel Agents we are making this partnership approach bigger and better, so that independent travel agents working with us have even more opportunities to grow their businesses.

Agents interested in becoming a specialist should contact their trade sales manager or visit the Jet2holidays’ dedicated trade site.


Criteria for becoming a Jet2holidays specialist

  • The partnership will be by mutual agreement – it won’t just be based on previous performance and volume.
  • Must be an agent who can demonstrate that they do or want to support Jet2holidays and don’t just “book” Jet2holidays.
  • A pro-active agent who has a “positive, forward thinking attitude and wants to take their business to the next level”.
  • An agent who “understands the value of marketing”.

The benefits for agents of being a specialist

  • The booking pod and their associated benefits as well as indoor and outdoor branding.
  • Dedicated 30-minute face-to-face staff training every 4-6 weeks.
  • Dedicated window posters emailed weekly targeting the agent’s potential market.
  • A guaranteed fam trip place.
  • Guaranteed access to one of Jet2holidays’ mobile travel agencies – either a trailer or gazebo.
  • A minimum of two “Jet2holidays sale events” – 4-7 days in duration with discounts/offers.
  • Access to market intelligence to help guide what and when agents should be promoting the right deals.
  • A guaranteed joint marketing fund (value to be agreed).
  • Additional POS opportunities including: furniture wraps, in-store pop ups, window drops, model aircraft, outdoor flags/A boards, social media content, branded blinds for the shop window, Jet2holidays chalk board and easel, light boxes.
  • Window vinyl for outside the store, promoting that the store is a Jet2holidays Specialist Travel Agent and featuring the agent telephone number.
  • Annual visit to head office to discuss, agree and draw up plans.
