Antigua and Barbuda’s VC Bird International airport is being closed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has decided to shut VC Bird International airport to all incoming air traffic from 27 March for an initial two weeks.
Although there has been no widespread infection of Covid-19 on the islands, the government has made the decision after it banned the arrival of people from high-risk countries.
Commercial airlines will still be allowed to fly empty aircraft to Antigua for repatriation flights.
