Alessandra LoTufo Alonso, founder of Women in Travel CIC, praised the industry's "renewed interest" in inclusion and social sustainability, while Travel Trade Consultancy director Martin Alcock was still "fairly confident" that businesses would see an uptick in bookings for 2026, despite his earlier warnings of the pitfalls of an increasingly discount-led market.
Delegates also touched on the topic of AI, including Chris Thompson, COO of The Firebird Partnership, who claimed businesses were "really getting to grips" with the emerging technology, and industry veteran Steve Endacott, who believes next year will be "the first year we see the benefit of AI in travel."
Meanwhile, Travel Department director Sara Zimmerman expressed hopes for a "slightly more stable global environment" in 2026 – and improved consumer confidence as a result.
