The deal with The Lotus Group will also see online distribution charges waived

The new agreement with The Lotus Group means the flights will be available from November 1 and will side step the £8 Distribution Technology Charge.

Ian Luck, British Airways’ head of distribution, said: "The Lotus Group has been an excellent partner for many years and has a history and culture of enthusiastically embracing new thinking and business models.

“We are very pleased with this agreement which provides immediate and longer term opportunities for both parties and our many mutual customers.”

Lotus Group commercial director Tony Griffiths added: "We have always been at the forefront of technological change and we can see a number of commercial opportunities in this new approach.”
