Emirates has introduced its new premium economy cabin to Heathrow passengers, offering it on one of its daily departures.
The brand new Airbus A380 is operating the EK003/4 frequency from today (4 January), departing Dubai at 14.30 and London at 20.20.
The airline unveiled its premium economy concept last week, with seats offering a 40-inch pitch and an enhanced service offering.
The A380 offers 56 seats in a 2-4-2 layout.
Emirates will take delivery of the last five A380s to be built by Airbus during 2021 and 2022 before production of the double decker ceases and these will all carry the new cabin.
The airline said it was “considering plans” to retrofit its existing A380s.
Emirates president Tim Clark has said the cabin will only be offered “as a complimentary upgrade to valued customers” until other aircraft have been retrofitted.
