Cruise line has announced that its next flagship MSC Grandiosa will be christened in Hamburg when it launches next year.
The cruise line revealed that Grandiosa will be christened in the German port on November 2, 2019, as MSC Meraviglia made its maiden call at Hamburg on Sunday (April 29).
Meraviglia, which launched last year, is MSC Cruises’ largest ship with capacity of up to 5,714 passengers and made its first call in Hamburg to start a season of Northern Europe itineraries.
MSC is offering its largest programme of Northern Europe sailings with four ships cruising around the region on 36 itineraries from six embarkation ports this summer.
Pierfrancesco Vago, MSC Cruises’ executive chairman, said: “We hold a special relationship with Germany overall and we are looking forward to celebrating with our German partners next November as well as welcoming our international guests to this historic port, rich in maritime tradition and heritage.”
Grandiosa will feature two new shows from Cirque du Soleil at Sea, as well as a larger Mediterranean-style promenade.
