Speaking to Sky News on Tuesday morning (25 January), Shapps said the government was planning to simplify the documents in a bid to make travel easier.
It comes after prime minister Boris Johnson confirmed Day 2 tests for fully vaccinated travellers returning to the country will be scrapped from 4am on 11 February. Shapps said the move has been a "long time coming".
"When you go abroad, there are no more tests to take when you come home," he added. "The only thing we ask you to do is fill in a passenger locator form, which we are going to simplify. They are ridiculously complicated to work your way through.
"You will fill in one of those passenger locator forms and that’s it – no quarantine, no testing and all of that cost will drop away."
On Monday (24 January), Shapps laid out the government’s new international travel regime, which will come into effect in time for February half-term. Shapps said it was time to "liberalise" the UK’s travel rules.
