The homeworking giant said sales ran to nearly 90% of 2019 levels last week, making it the best week for new leisure bookings since the start of the pandemic.
The uptick, said Travel Counsellors, was spurred on by the UK government’s move to scrap Day 2 tests for fully vaccinated arrivals into the UK.
Travel Counsellors also saw several "high-value" single travel bookings to destinations in the Indian Ocean, Caribbean and South Africa.
The sales data suggests holidaymakers are keen to get away promptly, with more than a quarter of the firm’s new bookings for travel in February and March to destinations such as Spain, the UAE and the US.
The next most popular period was July, accounting for nearly 10% of all bookings. Popular destinations for this season included Greece, Spain and the US.
Jim Eastwood, global sales director at Travel Counsellors, said customers were booking now to travel before the end of February, and securing their preferences for summer trips, while also planning ahead for winter sun.
"The pent-up demand is increasing the volume and value of bookings, and we anticipate this trend to continue, following the recent government announcement to scrap all testing on entering the UK for fully vaccinated travellers," he said.
"Leisure customers and corporate clients require a level of care and support that our Travel Counsellors are renowned for, to help them navigate the changed travel landscape."
