Wendy Wu Tours has confirmed the departure of group chief executive Joe Karbo.
Karbo joined the Asia specialist tour operator in 2016, followed by a period in 2017 as acting managing director for its UK business.
His termination as a director of Wendy Wu Tours Ltd was filed today (30 July) at Companies House.
In July 2018 Karbo took up a one-year posting as managing director in Australia.
Commenting on Karbo’s departure, Wendy Wu founder and chairwoman, Wendy Wu, said: “As the company’s chief executive role has been restructured, it was agreed by mutual decision that Joe would leave the business.”
She added: “We thank Joe for all his hard work, dedication and the innovations he brought to the business.
“In this interim period, before a new managing director is appointed, the Australia business will be managed by the senior leadership team in Australia with the full support of the global office.”
Wendy Wu appointed former STA Travel managing director Glen Mintrim to lead its UK business last week.
