River cruise specialist CroisiEurope has launched a new online search tool for agents as it reports more than 25% growth in trade sales year-on-year.
The search facility, powered by content sharing platform Widgety, allows agents to search the line’s prices, availability, ship details and full itinerary content.
Agents can use its content feeds on their Facebook pages to encourage faster searches, enquiries and conversions.
The move follows Croisi’s recently revamped fully bookable agent portal, which provides live pricing, exclusive rates and the option to hold cabins.
John Fair, UK sales director, told TTG interested agents could request log-in details by emailing email@example.com or by contacting the line through its social media channels.
He said it had been a “crazy six months” since he took on the role.
According to Fair, the line has seen trade sales grow more than a quarter against 2017 and has secured commercial agreements with “all the major agent consortia”.
“We’ve really started to get a foothold with the UK trade and are in front of literally thousands more agents than previously,” he said.
Fair, formerly Cosmos’s product and commercial director, added he was aiming to invite UK agents on more fam trips in 2019.
The line, which operates a fleet of more than 50 vessels worldwide, will run two this year –including a trip following Clia’s River Cruise Conference in Paris in November.
“There is no substitute for getting agents onboard, and although we haven’t finalised the exact number yet, I’d imagine about four or five [fam trips] for next year.
There really is no better way for agents to see the product.
“We have done a great job so far but there is still so much opportunity to grow, so we need to keep it up – more training, meeting more agents and getting the message out there,” he added.
