Emirates has bought 30 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners at the 2019 Dubai Airshow.
The aircraft, which are worth $8.8 billion at list price, will be delivered from 2023 for five years.
A purchase agreement signed at the aerospace event allows Emirates to substitute B777xs with B787s.
The deal was signed by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emirates chairman and chief executive, and Stanley Deal, president and chief executive for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
“This is an important investment and addition to our future fleet and network requirements, providing us with the agility, flexibility and spread of seat segments when it comes to overall capacity to serve a range of destinations as we develop and grow our global route network,” Al Maktoum said.
