Wizz Air carried 1.9 million passengers in February at a load factor of 91%; this compares with just 383,000 last February, when load factor was just shy of 70%.
Rolling figures, meanwhile, show Wizz flew 17 million seats in the year to 28 February 2021, carrying 11.5 million passengers at a load factor of 67.1%.
During the year to 28 February 2022, though, Wizz put on 32.5 million seats and flew 25 million passengers, resulting in a load factor of 77.1% – a 10% year-on-year improvement.
Ryanair’s load factor bounced back to pre-Omicron levels in February; the Irish no-frills airline carried 8.7 million passengers in February at a load factor of 86%, up from 79% in January and 81% in December and placing it on par with its performance in November 2021.
Ryanair’s load factor in February 2021 was 78%, albeit based on carrying just 500,000 passengers.
Norwegian Air carried 640,000 passengers in February at a load factor of 81%, up from 70% in January when it carried a comparable number of passengers. It’s the first time the Norwegian airline’s load factor has surpassed 80% since October 2021.
