France 24, citing a government statement published by Morocco’s MAP news agency, reported the band would end on 7 February.
The country introduced the ban on 29 November to guard against the import and spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19. It had been due to be a temporary measure enforced until the end of the year, but was extended into January.
New entry requirements for visitors will be announced at a later date, added France 24 – again citing the statement published by MAP.
The Foreign Office last updated its travel advice for Morocco on 29 December, reflecting the country’s decision to extend the flight ban until the end of January.
As the rules currently stand, anyone travelling to Morocco once the ban is lifted will have to provide proof of having been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least two weeks prior to departure and evidence of a negative PCR test for Covid-19 taken up to 24 hours prior to departure.
