British Airways has revealed its annual travel predictions for the year ahead.
Celebrities, new routes, TV programmes and films have all influenced the predictions, with Santiago, Chile, in the top slot.
BA said the new season of TV show House of Cards has put Washington DC higher up the list, and a number of new short-haul destinations rank among the top picks, including Brindisi in Italy and Murcia in Spain.
Travel experts have also chosen New Orleans as the hotspot to watch, as it attracts ever more music and art lovers, thanks to its world famous Mardis Gras festival.
Claire Bentley, managing director of British Airways Holidays, said: “Savvy holiday-makers are always looking for top tips to explore the latest and coolest destinations.
“We’ve built up years of experience to offer deals to suit all travellers, from city breaks, to fly drives to multi-city tours.
“Our holidays won’t break the bank and a deposit of just £150 will secure your break with British Airways Holidays.”
