The Kenya Tourism Board is celebrating following a decision by the Foreign Office (FCO) to lift some of its travel advice to the country.
The change of advice means the office is no longer advising against all but essential travel to more of the Kenya coast, as far north as Malindi.
The change of heart means the entire coastline south of the town as far as Tanzania is once again open to British tourists.
Areas freed up by the advice also include Malindi, Watamu, Shanzu, Mombasa including Mombasa Island and Diani Beach.
Kenya received 117,201 visitors from the UK market in 2014 and the newly opened region should help drive further visitors to the country where they can also visit any one of Kenya’s 59 national parks.
This is good news for Kenya, especially just before World Travel Market. Let’s hope they strike some deals as a result
