National Geographic Expeditions has launched a river cruise offering in partnership with Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours.
The cruises from the brand – which only recently launched in the UK - will enable travellers to head in land via small ship.
Each sailing will be accompanied by a National Geographic expert who will deliver educational presentations and informal discussions throughout the trip.
European cruises will also have a National Geographic photographer onboard to share professional techniques and help guests hone their photography skills.
There will be an array of excursions available including hikes and bike rides and experiences that focus on the natural world, culture and history.
There are eight new river cruise packages departing in 2018 and 2019.
In Europe travellers will sail on the Rhine, Danube, Main and Moselle Rivers; in Holland and Belgium; through France’s Bordeaux region and Portugal’s Douro Valley.
Alternatively, in Myanmar the Irrawaddy river cruise takes guests past ancient stupas, historical sites and ever-changing landscapes.
