Norwegian Air has expanded its autumn route offering following a reported increase in customer demand.
Passengers can now fly direct from Bergen to London, Berlin, Krakow, Malaga, Alicante, Antalya, Chania and Copenhagen this Autumn. A new route from Alesund to Alicante has also been added.
The move comes after the carrier’s traffic figures for August and its number of future bookings showed a continued increase in the number of passengers.
Last month Norwegian carried 790,220 passengers, which was one and a half times more than at the same time last year.
Compared with August 2020, the total capacity reportedly increased by 129% and passenger traffic up 168%.
Geir Karlsen, chief executive of Norwegian, said the airline will continue to adapt its network to meet the "positive trend" in passenger demand.
"We are pleased with the positive increase in passenger numbers and demand," he added. "Everybody at Norwegian has worked incredibly hard to achieve these results and we will continue to deliver good customer experiences while running our business as efficiently as possible.
"We have reopened several routes that have been suspended since the pandemic started. It is now possible again to travel to several cities in Europe, such as Pisa, Edinburgh, Munich, Prague and Vienna."
