Spain has revamped its tourism website ahead of a campaign to persuade visitors to return.
Spain.info, which receives more than 15 million visits a year, is now designed with a “mobile-first” approach including interactive maps and downloadable brochures.
The website is now offered in nine languages and has been integrated with all major social media networks to allow sharing of experiences and suggestions for those visiting the destination.
The upgrade follows user studies and surveys carried out in 16 countries to analyse the requirements of international visitors and to see why they visit tourism websites.
The development is part of the Back to Spain campaign that includes video and digital advertisements showing in the UK.
Spain plans to encourage visitors to travel out of season and visit other regions as it recovers from Covid-19. Back to Spain features 10 creative concepts showcasing, among other niches, nature tourism, gastronomy and heritage.
