The wider travel industry and the myriad challenges facing it will be the focus of the next TTG virtual seminar, Keep Your Business Alive II, on 23 April.
Following the success of last week’s event, which attracted more than 400 delegates, TTG Media will again be hosting a second Keep Your Business Alive with a raft of sessions to educate and inform the trade during these unprecedented times, and a live Q&A with all speakers.
The afternoon will begin at 2pm with a presentation from Chris Photi, head of travel and leisure at White Hart Associates, who will explore how the travel landscape has been altered by the coronavirus crisis. He will also look into how businesses have had to adapt, with tips on how companies can survive the next few months, and predictions for the 2020 and 2021 holiday market.
This will be followed by a panel discussion entitled The Bigger Picture, featuring Aito head of commercial Bharat Gadhoke and Abta’s head of public affairs Luke Petherbridge. The panel will discuss the wider travel industry and the myriad challenges facing it, from airlines to operators, and crucially what’s being done behind the scenes to support the sector through the coronavirus crisis.
Following this will be a legal update session with Joanna Kolatsis, director at Themis Advisory; Simon Bunce, director of legal affairs, Abta; and Joanna Chatterton, partner, Fox Williams. The panel will explore the most pressing legal issues facing the industry – from refunds and how best to communicate these to clients, to employment law advice and the latest from government on the Package Travel Regulations.
The afternoon will conclude with A Different Perspective session featuring Alan Cross, head of trade sales at Jet2holidays, and Lisa McAuley, managing director tour operations B2B Dnata Travel Europe – Gold Medal & Travel 2, as they explain the challenges and difficulties they’ve faced, offer tips on how they worked with agents to overcome these and discuss how they believe the travel industry will change going forwards.
