Membership will enable them to learn more about the industry, network with key players and attend debates hosted by the ITT.
InteleTravel agent Jo Flowers, from Cambridgeshire-based Jo’s Great Escapes, said: “As an independent travel agent, being a member of the ITT is very valuable because it helps me stay connected to the wider travel industry and continue developing professionally.
“Having access to a community of travel professionals where knowledge and experience are shared is incredibly helpful. Being part of the ITT means I’m constantly learning, staying informed and connected with others across the industry, which ultimately benefits the service and advice I’m able to offer my clients.”
ITT chair Steven Freudmann added: “InteleTravel is an important player and has grown exponentially, so it is right to invite their top members to be part of ITT and I hope they will benefit from the networking opportunities that we can provide.”
A number of InteleTravel agents recently joined the ITT for a debate on the Competitions and Markets Authority's new guidance on holiday pricing, and how any fees should be displayed upfront.
The CMA decision requires all trip elements to be included in the headline price, avoiding extra charges at payment. The aims is to increase transparency in pricing, but how it will apply practically and how it will be enforced has raised questions for travel sellers.
The topic was of particular interest to InteleTravel, as many advisors promote holidays on social media and were keen to know the implications for these activities.
Flowers added: “It's always useful to get guidance from experts on the compliance side, particularly the social media aspect. This combined with the networking made for an enjoyable evening.”
