Elegant Resorts launches first experience-focused brochure

Elegant Resorts has launched its first-ever experience-focused brochure, as it looks to expand beyond the kind of “luxury beach” holidays it is known for.

Elegant Resorts has partnered with National Geographic Expeditions on a range of new escorted tours and will feature Japan for the first time

Managing director Lisa Fitzell launched the brochure this week, saying she hoped this would show agents the operator could offer a much wider range of product.

 

“Some people have questioned the validity of brochures at all these days, but we asked our clients, and they responded positively to still wanting them,” she said. “But what we have done with this new Journeys + Experiences brochure is really showcase a portfolio of expertly curated holidays for those clients looking for more inspirational holidays.”

 

The luxury operator’s new portfolio includes a range of escorted tours in partnership with National Geographic Expeditions, which include a geological look at Utah’s canyons, a trip to see snow leopards in India, and an outback air safari in Australia.

 

Elegant has also launched an Around the World in 50 days trip, which journeys via Singapore, Bangkok, Laos, Australia, Fiji and the US, and will continue its partnership with Dr Raj Joshi to offer expeditions including Mount Everest and Mount Kilimanjaro.

 

A range of private jet tours with TCS World Travel will also feature, such as a 24-night Around the World trip departing from Fort Lauderdale in October 2020.

In 2020, Elegant Resorts will also feature destinations such as Japan, Turkey, the Polar regions, and Tanzania and Kenya for the first time.

 

This evolution on from selling classic beach holidays comes in a year when Elegant is already reporting a 5% increase in European bookings, while Fitzell said forward bookings for 2020 were up 20% year-on-year.

 

Fitzell added however that Barbados remains the operator’s top selling destination for 2020, alongside popular Italy, Greece, Dubai and Tenerife in the top five.

 

She added: “Our clients are avid travellers who like their classic holidays, but we can see they are keen to travel further afield, enjoy new experiences, and explore countries such as Rwanda and Japan.

 

“We are consistently growing our portfolio, and we are thriving at being the best in class, whilst also looking at new areas to improve and expand.”

 

A range of hotels are also new for 2020, including Villa Igiea in Sicily; One & Only Resorts’ first European property in Montenegro; Royal Atlantis in Dubai; Oetker Collection’s Eden Rock in the Caribbean; and Four Seasons Bangkok.
