Passengers on a Paul Gaugin cruise ship have been allowed to disembark after all onboard tested negative for Covid-19.
The vessel, which is in its home port of Papeete, French Polynesia, had been the subject of a coronavirus scare after one asymptomatic passenger tested positive before being removed from the ship.
The remaining passengers are now in “a place of confinement” for seven days’ quarantine, the islands’ High Commission said.
Officials said passengers would be tested again after the quarantine ends and future cruise passengers would be required to self-test before boarding.
