Michael Vinales has joined Olympic Holidays as director of sales and revenue.
He will take charge of reservations, agency sales and yield teams at the European Island specialist operator, reporting into chief executive Clare Tobin.
Revealing his appointment to TTG, Tobin said Vinales, formerly product and commercial director at Cosmos, was “the last piece of the puzzle” to Olympic’s senior management team following a raft of recent senior hires.
According to the operator, Vinales departed Cosmos in June and began consultancy work with Olympic in August before joining permanently.
He brings more than 30 years of travel industry experience including tenures at Sunworld, Thomas Cook and Monarch.
His appointment follows the retirement of Olympic’s former commercial director Photis Lambrianides this summer and a number of top-level appointments including Donna Allcock as director of product, Reeva Kingston to the position of director of operations and Ricky Wason as UK head of purchasing.
Krishna Seyani also became Olympic’s new human resources manager and Hans Kirk was promoted to the newly created role of purchasing manager as part of the changes.
Tobin added: “I’m really excited to welcome Michael to the senior team, and add his experience particularly in aviation, commercial, product and sales. His ability to revenue manage [and] charter low-cost and scheduled programmes is invaluable.
“Michael’s industry relationships are very strong and have been established over many years, which is another great asset as we continue to support our agent network. I am delighted to welcome Michael permanently to the team.”
