Norwegian has confirmed the sale of two of its Airbus A320neo aircraft as part of its ongoing efforts to balance its books.
The two aircraft belong to Norwegian subsidiary Arctic Aviation Assets and will be released for delivery later this month.
The sale will raise $26 million for the company after repayment of debt, Norwegian said in a statement.
Norwegian will use the money to repay debts and “increase the company’s liquidity”.
"The sale is in line with the company’s strategy of capitalising on the scale built up over the past few years and the changed focus from growth to profitability,” said the airline.
Last month, Norwegian outlined further details of its proposed cost-saving measures, including both selling off aircraft and postponing aircraft delivery.
