Ryanair has stepped up its presence at Manchester airport, confirming 10 new routes for this summer, including a link to The Azores.
A weekly flight to Ponta Delgada, the capital of the mid-Atlantic Portuguese islands, will operate this summer together with new services to Agadir, Almeria, Reus, Belfast, Cagliari in Sardinia, Palermo (Sicily), Porto, Rhodes, and Venice Treviso.
Ryanair will base an additional three aircraft at Manchester this summer, making a total of 12. They will increase capacity by 300,000 to a projected 4.9 million passengers and enable the airline to offer 57 routes.
Ryanair’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said: “Ryanair is delighted to announce an additional investment of $300 million at Manchester with three extra based aircraft for our peak summer 2018 schedule, bringing the total investment at Manchester to $1.2 billion.
“We will deliver an exciting set of 10 new Manchester summer routes, some of which are connecting with Manchester for the first time.”
