Ryanair passengers stranded on the M11 after a serious crash will be offered a seat on the next available flight for free if they miss their departure, the airline has confirmed.
The motorway, which serves Stansted airport, was shut in both direct directions on Wednesday morning (January 16) at junction eight, the junction for the airport.
In a statement, Ryanair said: “Customers travelling to and from Stansted airport this morning should be aware of severe traffic disruption due to the closure of the M11 motorway.
“Flights will depart as scheduled – customers who miss flights due to this closure will be transferred to the next available flight free of charge.”
Stansted, meanwhile, has urged passengers to allow extra time to get to the airport, or consider alternative routes.
