Touchdown Holidays and Travel Industry Services (TIS) have combined, and appointed Robbie White head of cruise product at the newly named Touchdown | Travel Industry Services.
White joins from Choosing Cruising where he has held the role of managing director for the last 10 years.
He has previously been responsible for product, development and revenue generation, and brings extensive knowledge of the cruise sector and a bulging contacts book.
White will report to the director of product and marketing Nasser Gerab.
“I have worked with key personnel from cruise lines, travel agents and technology providers for many years, building contracts to create new revenue sources and strengthen the company’s product portfolio and industry position,” said White.
“I look forward to bringing this expertise to the cruise product.”
Nigel Smithson, managing director, added: “Cruise is a significant and ever-growing part of our product portfolio.
“We were looking for somebody with extensive knowledge of the cruise business combined with a strong commercial outlook and in Robbie, we have found that.”
Touchdown and TIS merged in July in a bid to become “the UK’s top holiday operator for travel industry professionals and their friends and family”.
“Going forward, we want to assure you that we will still be the same old company that you have grown to love,” the company said on its website.
“Our mission remains unchanged. We will simply have more resources to continue building products that delight our customers.”
