BA has, over recent weeks, added seven extra return services to Bangkok and Singapore to meet increased demand, amounting to more than 3,300 additional seats available from 10-19 March.
On Tuesday (17 March), it confirmed services to Doha would remain suspended until at least 30 April, and to Amman, Bahrain, Dubai and Tel Aviv until 31 May. BA services between Heathrow and Abu Dhabi, meanwhile, will resume next winter (from 25 October).
Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ chief planning and strategy officer, said the airline was continuing to monitor customer demand. "To support customers with alternative routes from popular destinations, we have already launched additional flights," he said. "We will add flights to our schedule if we’re able to do so."
Several other airlines are increasing capacity to cope with the widespread disruption, including Singapore Airlines, which has bolstered its flight programme with two additional services between Heathrow and Singapore.
