A Ryanair flight travelling to Manchester had to be evacuated after a bomb scare.
The plane was about to leave Rygge airport, near Oslo, at 3.55pm GMT yesterday (May 15) when authorities took the decision to clear passengers and staff from the aircraft but found no suspicious devices onboard.
During the incident Norwegian police detained two men but later released the pair and afterwards tweeted that the situation was the result of a “misunderstanding”.
According to news reports citing a police spokesman, the men were overheard arguing and using the word "bomb” by passengers who alerted cabin crew.
One of those arrested is thought to be a British national, while the other Sri Lankan.
Ryanair put on a replacement service to Manchester at midnight on Sunday.
