De Niro already has a hotel in New York, The Greenwich and he and chef Nobu Matsuhisa are set to open a hotel in Miami together this September, Nobu Hotel Miami Beach, which will debut within the Eden Roc Miami Beach resort under their co-founded Nobu Hospitality company.

Also behind the Miami project are Hollywood producer Meir Teper and business magnate James Packer.

Packer and De Niro are also working on a separate hotel project together on the sleepy Caribbean island of Barbuda, the opening date of which is yet to be confirmed.

Designed by David Rockwell, the oceanfront Nobu Hotel Miami features renowned Japanese restaurant Nobu Miami, as well as Helen Henderson’s first east coast based restaurant Malibu Farm.

Chef Nobu said: “Since opening my restaurant in Miami Beach 16 years ago, I have felt a connection to this city and the people. Now with the Nobu Hotel, I feel like I have a new home."

Guests of the 206-room hotel can chose between rooms with Biscayne Bay or Atlantic views, including three oceanview 2,500-square-foot penthouse suites.

Among the new amenities will be a 24 hour in-room dining menu designed especially for Nobu Hotel Miami Beach, while access to a Nobu private pool is still to be launched.

Prices at the hotel start from £325 per person, from September 16.
