Lord Ahmad made the visit to the company’s headquarters in Leeds and met, among others, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive Steve Heapy, Jet2.com managing director Phil Ward and Jet2.com and Jet2holidays commercial director Steve Lee.
As well as being given a tour of the company’s training facility, the lord was also briefed on plans to launch two new UK bases in spring 2017, London Stansted and Birmingham, and the addition of 34 brand new Boeing 737-800NG aircraft to the company’s fleet.
The airline and operator will employ 7,200 people this summer while in the last financial year, it flew 6 million passengers to 67 destinations in 20 countries.
