He is standing down with immediate effect having announced his departure from the Thomas Cook Group after three years. He joined the Abta board in December, 2014.
ABTA chief executive Mark Tanzer said: “On behalf of the board, I’d like to thank Craig for his contribution to Abta and wish him all the best for the future.”
An Abta spokesperson added his departure means a member vacancy is now available on the board, with the board set to consider the next steps regarding any prosepective new appointment.
A Thomas Cook spokesperson said Stoehr will be replaced in his role by Alice Marsden who was previously group company secretary and head of legal - group and UK and Ireland. She retains her position as company secretary.
She will now sit on the group management council with direct responsibility for corporate governance and legal matters across the group, UK and airlines, while also overseeing legal functions in all source markets.
Stoehr’s M&A responsibilities will pass to Thomas Cook Group chief financial officer, Michael Healy.
