The announcement grows easyJet’s route network at Bristol to 74 with the airline operating 770 flights a week in peak summer, up 10% on last year.

A second daily flight between Bristol and Paris Charles de Gaulle airport will also launch in July.

The additional 186-seat Airbus A320 aircraft, easyJet’s 17th at Bristol, will add an extra 93,000 seats this summer. Seats went on sale on Tuesday (16 April).

Flights to Milan Malpensa will operate four-times weekly year-round on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, starting 1 July.

EasyJet’s twice-weekly Bristol-Biarritz service, meanwhile, will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays starting 2 July and twice-weekly Bristol-Brindisi service on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting 3 July. Both are summer seasonal services.

The news follows confirmation last week easyJet will also increase frequency on its Bristol-Belfast, Glasgow and Zakynthos routes.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said the additional aircraft and routes at Bristol would allow it to deliver “long-term, sustainable growth”.

“Our ongoing growth at Bristol demonstrates easyJet’s long-term commitment to providing connectivity for the south west,” added Gayward.

“We continue to be the largest airline at Bristol and, in the coming weeks, we will carry our 55 millionth passenger, showing our customers continue to book with confidence.”

EasyJet will fly 20 times a week to Belfast this summer from Bristol, 23 times a week to Glasgow and twice a week to Zakynthos.
