The breakfast and evening training events are the first dedicated events the operator has held for homeworkers, director and head of trade relations Jess Dennison told TTG this week.
“The homeworking sector is growing and we feel small, dedicated training sessions for homeworkers will enable us to get to know them better and provide personalised training on Latin America and Latin Routes product,” said Dennison, adding the events would also be an opportunity for homeworkers to meet other travel sellers in their area.
Each session will last about two hours, covering various destinations and how to sell them, and will incorporate video, imagery and interactive training, as well as marketing tips.
Places are limited to 20 per session, with Latin Routes expecting between 10-15 attendees at each event.
Dennison said homeworkers were becoming an increasingly important to operators.
“Some of our main accounts are homeworking businesses,” she said. “They have clients who want to travel long-haul and need an agent with patience.”
She added the aim of the sessions was to increase homeworking agents’ knowledge and confidence selling Latin Routes product.
Sessions will be run by the operator’s trade team comprising Dennison, Molly Cofman-Nicoresti and Gaynor Atherton.
The tour starts in Birmingham on March 5 and winds up in Glasgow on April 17.
