A Malaysia Airlines flight has been forced to turn back to Melbourne after a passenger tried to enter the cockpit, officials have said.
Flight MH128 - bound for Kuala Lumpur - was forced to turn back "due to a disruptive passenger", a statement from the airline said.
According to the statement, the captain turned the aircraft around after being alerted to a "passenger attempting to enter the cockpit,” BBC News reports.
The plane has since returned to the ground safely with the pilot requesting security assistance.
Melbourne airport has been placed on lockdown as a result of the incident after local media suggested the passenger claimed to have explosives onboard, the Mirror reports.

Australian police confirmed to national news network 9NEWS they were responding to an incident but gave no details.
Flight tracking website FlightRadar24 said the plane was airborne for just 14 minutes after it took off at 23:27 local time.
Liow Tiong Lai, Malaysia’s Minister for Transport confirmed the flight had "landed safely after being forced to turn back due to a disruptive passenger attempting to enter flight deck".
