The operator was speaking after it completed reorganising itineraries for its clients affected by the Kaikoura earthquake.
The 7.8-magnitude quake struck around 40 miles south-west of the tourist town of Kaikoura on November 14 last year.
Two people were killed and a substantial amount of damage was caused to local roads and railway lines.
John Lightwood, managing director at Silver Fern Holidays, said: “December was a very busy month reorganising high-season trips and it will be quite a while before the coast road and rail routes are repaired, but it’s important that the UK travel trade makes it clear to customers that South Island is very much open for business.”
Lightwood said that the operator would be routing both its “small group journeys” and its “independent travellers” from the town of Picton and city of Nelson, via Hanmer Springs (pictured), and on to Christchurch.
